In Germany, the Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz - BFSG) will take full effect on June 28, 2025, following the guidelines set forth by the European Accessibility Act (EAA). This legislation emphasises the importance of accessible digital products, ensuring services can be easily used by people with disabilities. For digital banking services, the act mandates compliance with the WCAG 2.1 AA standards, which cover accessibility features like keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and adequate colour contrast.
As a software company specialising in SDKs for banking applications, Gini is actively working to ensure that Gini’s Bank SDK fully meets BFSG requirements by the 2025 deadline. Gini’s Bank SDK is already compliant with most of the WCAG 2.1 requirements, and the team is dedicated to addressing the remaining aspects to ensure a smooth, accessible experience for all users.
By adhering to these standards, Gini is not only preparing for legal compliance but also contributing to a more inclusive digital world. The team is continually enhancing its SDKs to create banking experiences that are accessible, functional, and user-friendly for everyone. Ensuring accessibility is more than meeting a regulation—it’s about making banking truly inclusive.
We are happy to announce the availability of the User Journey Tracking in the latest release of our SDKs!
We wanted to know more about the end user behaviour inside our SDK so we could improve user’s experience inside the SDK. We will gather anonymized data of every user’s interaction (tapping buttons, opening different screens, and …) to analyse this data and improve the experience and increase the user engagement!
